How strange to be wandering around this area exactly 4 years after I was here to place T4 - Welcome to the world Naomi (now archived).
Back in July 2011 MT was nearing her due date when it was decided that we would mark the day of the arrival of latest tribe member. We already had caches for T1, T2 and T3 close to each other so wanted th T4 to be close by. walking around and around with GPS in hand trying to find somewhere suitable and somewhere just outside the magic radius was proving quite a challenge, when suddenly a little space revelaed itself to me. Placing the box in its hidey hole I watched the GPS countdown as it calculated the co-ordinates, saved them and then checked to see if it was far enough away.................it was
That was the easy bit, the hard bit was now to get the cache published when we didn't know what day we want it published on. So contacted our reviewer and explained what we were trying to do and they said they would help us as best thy can but couldn't promise anything. Now all we had to do was wait..........and not for very long!!! 2 days later T4 decided she'd had enough of being carried around and wanted to come out and cache for herself in the early hours of the morning. Now for anyone who has been through the joys of having children will know that there is generally a protocol on announcing the arrival of the child to the family. Normally parents, siblings, best friends, immediate family, friends, rest of family, facebook and the rest of the world, but not us, not this time - parents got a call (somethings in life you shouldn't change) and then we contacted the reviewer to say T4 was here and the cache can go live as soon as they are able to, then we let the remaining people know the news. With all that done I went back to check on mum and baby, told them that everyone had been contacted and re-assured her that I HAD contacted the reviewer and that we'd probably see the cache go live later that afternoon. Then shortly after getting something to eat the sound of the pings came through (well the buzz of the phones, they were on silent we were in the hospital still) "oooh a new cache to go find" we thought...but no....it was ours!! "Welcome to the World Naomi" had gone live already we coudln't believe it, not even 5 hours old and her cache had gone live, "Thanks Red Duster" and the rest as they say is history.
The area for the cache unfortunately began to get cluttered with undergrowth and rubbish so we move it a little way down a path where it stayed for a while until some men with chainsaws took to clearing the trees in the area so we eventually had to archive the cache. Now 4 years later this area has regrown and has almost totally changed over that period of time. So with T1 and T3 still in place and a few new caches from other cachers in the area we'd like to bring you back here to celebrate T4 turning 4.
