Geocache Description:

I-275 Bike Trail - Humber cache is along Meadowbrook Road north of 12 Mile Road. There is parking north of 12 Mile Road off Meadowbrook Road. You can also view an online trail map on Google Maps. It includes markers for official access points to the trail.

The I-275 Bike Trail now uses Meadowbrook Road to connect the section further to the north to that along of M-5. As with the other sections, I am naming them after defunct bicycle manufacturers. This cache is named after Humber. Thomas Humber developed his first bicycle in 1884. They were made by Humber car manufacturer until 1932 when it was sold to Raleigh. The brand name continued into the 1970s. In 1896 Humber produced the first practical motorcycle by fitting a bicycle with a two-horsepower motor.

The cache container is a small camo painted bison tube. Please carefully return the container to its hiding place so it is not visible. You will need a log extractor. Please bring your own pencil or pen.

I have found that a quick and simple log extraction tool can be made from a small paperclip. Straighten one end out. Grab just a small portion (maybe 1/32 of an inch or 1 millimeter) with a long-nose or needle-nose pliers then bend it at a right angle. I have attached one to the cache you can use. Please leave it for the next person.
