The I-275 Bike Trail now uses Meadowbrook Road to connect the section further to the north to that along of M-5. As with the other sections, I am naming them after defunct bicycle manufacturers. This cache is named after Demorest. Demorest originally made sewing machines. In 1891 they began producing bicycles. In 1907 the company reorganized as Lycoming Foundry and Machine Company, shifting its focus toward automobile engine manufacture. Eventually it was sold to Auburn Manufacturing.
