Amsterdam is built in a marsh. To prevent the houses, churches and bridges from sinking every building is built on poles. These poles vary in length between 10 and 60 metres and stand on the firm sand layers under the marsh. Nowadays we use concrete but the old city is built on wooden poles. There must be millions of poles under the city. The Royal Palace at Dam square alone stands on 13659 poles!
But sometimes gravity strikes back. Because of wood rot or unreliable contractors that 'forgot' a few poles some buildings start to sink anyway. During the walk you will visit some places where things went wrong. Of course the worst cases are already demolished or reconstructed, but you will get a good impression what would happen to Amsterdam without its poles.
To find the cache you have to find the picture taken at every waypoint. Use the digit on the picture for the coordinates of the cache. The picture taken at WP1 gives you A, WP2 gives you B etc.
Every picture is taken at the given coordinates. After completing the route the cache can be found on N52 AB.CDE E004 FG.HIJ.

Amsterdam die mooie stad is gebouwd op palen. Als die stad eens ommeviel wie zou dat betalen? Het is een bekend (maar wel erg kort) kinderliedje. Het is eigenlijk onvoorstelbaar hoeveel palen er onder de stad moeten staan. Alleen het paleis op de Dam heeft er al 13659.
Bij deze cache bezoeken we tien punten waar dat bouwen op palen niet helemaal goed ging.
Om de cache te vinden moet op elk punt de daar genomen foto worden gevonden. Gebruik het cijfer op de foto voor de eindcoördinaten. De foto genomen op WP1 geeft A, die op WP2 geeft B etc. De cache ligt op N52 AB.CDE E004 FG.HIJ.
