The woodland path is not too steep but can be slippy if it has rained recently.
This part of the woods is carpetted with bluebells in spring and well worth a visit.
The woods are bounded to the north by Top Hagg and to the south by Bottom Hagg. These are old footpaths that follow the lines of old cart tracks that ran south west to join the Cromford canal. Bottom Hagg is a prettier walk, but if coming by car, it is best to approach via Top Hagg Lane.
