U.S. Route 20 is a coast to coast highway stretching from Boston MA. through 12 states to the Pacific Ocean in Newport OR. It is the longest U.S. highway in the country (3365 miles). This cache is located along an old section of route 20. There is also a replica of the original 1926 U.S. route shield design located on this old section.
Near the cache is the Camp Worcester stone memorial where the 3rd Ohio Volunteer Cavalry camped and drilled in 1861-1862.
