Whaleboat Island Traditional Cache

This cache is located on Whaleboat island. The island has no amenities. There isn't an easy way to get here except by boat. Most likely a kayak is your best option, and early morning is probably your best bet before the wind starts increasing the size of the waves. My brother, my 12 year old niece, and I made the crossing in our 3 kayaks from Harpswell Neck.
Launch spots: Mitchell field is probably the closest free launch point to the cache. Another option is Dolphin Marina, which has a fee. Once you get to Whaleboat Island, beaching yourself is also difficult as the coast is mostly rocks. Once you find a place to beach your boat/kayak, you'll most likely want to walk along the rocks, as the vegetation is quite thick. So it might be advisable to bring a pair of boots that can deal with the terrain.
