Otok Krk je jako zanimljivo odredište za planinarenje. Od Vrbnika se prema jugu razilaze dvije planinske kose zatvarajući prostrano Bašćansko polje. Jugozapadno od polja nalazi se najviši vrh otoka, Obzova.
Kada s Velog Vrha krenete prema Obzovi i kada izmučeni, gladni i žedni pomislite da ste stigli na vrh Obzove, čekat će vas neugodno iznenađenje. Shvatit ćete da to nije Obzova. Na kamenu će crvenim slovima pisati "Brestovica 555". :) No ne očajavajte. S tog mjesta je divan pogled na sve četiri strane svijeta.
Napomena: Izbjegavajte planinarenje po otoku po jakom suncu. Idite na izlet po oblačnom vremenu. Ili rano ujutro. I ponesite si dosta vode. Gore nema pitke vode.
The island of Krk is a very interesting destination for hiking. From Vrbnik to the south two mountain chains are separating, and closing the large Baška field. Southwest of the field is the highest peak on the island, Obzova.
When you go from Veli Vrh to Obzova and when tired, hungry and thirsty you think you have reached the top of Obzova, you will get an unpleasant surprise. You will find that this is not Obzova. The stone will write in red letters "Brestovica 555". :) But do not despair. From here is a wonderful view on all four sides of the world.
Note: Avoid hiking on the island in bright sunlight. Go on a trip on a cloudy day. Or early in the morning. And bring plenty of water. There is no drinking water up there.
