Martin Road NFC Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

RonGerth: The logging trucks were not kind to the tree holding the chip for this cache. The tree and the chip are gone. I am going to archive the cache right now and will put another one out in the area once the logging is done and life has settled down in that gravel pit area. Thanks for hunting for the cache.

Geocache Description:

This is an NFC cache which requires an NFC capable unit to find the final coordinates.  A list of them can be found at this link.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFC-enabled_mobile_devices

At the first stage you are looking for a small tag that is actually a key tag that has been coded with the final coordinates.  Please DO NOT take the NFC tag or move it.

This is a trail into a gravel pit that currently appears to be idle.  On the way into the pit on the trail I passed several muddy areas that all had canine looking foot prints in them with at least one set being larger than our 75 pound Golden Retreiver's foot prints are.  What I am trying to say is that there are appears to be at least one very large wolf back in that area.  I know that packs of them are in the area and that other animals ranging from skunks to mountain lions have been reported to be in the area.  With that said if you want to bring your dog along for this cache I would be carefull as you are going into a surprisingly isolated area.  What would a cache hike be without being swarmed with Black Flies??  Don't worry you won't find out on the hike, I was assulted by them when I got out of the truck and began the hike into the area and they only got hungrier the farther down the trail I went.

This is a hunting area and has 4 wheeler tracks on the trails so wear orange during hunting season and do not block the gate.
