The Q33 bus was the 33rd bus route established by the NYC Department of Plants and Structures. Coincidentally, it was on January 1, 1933 the the Municipal Motorbus Company received the franchise to run this route. In 1936, the Department of Plants and Structures divided Queens into four franchise zones and the Triboro Coach Corporation received franchise area A centered around Woodside. This allowed Triboro to acquire Municipal Motor Bus and the Q33 route as its own. Triboro held on to the route until 2005 when it be a part of the MTA Bus Company.
The mighty Q33 starts at the subway station bus terminal at 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue. It then finds its way to 82nd/83rd Street to 23rd avenue and eventually to 94th Street where it ends at Ditmars Blvd and 94th Street. The line originally ran into LaGuardia Airport but in September, 2013, it was replaced by the Q70 providing express service between the 74th Street bus terminal and LaGuardia airport's various terminals.
This bus stop is located near the LaGuardia Bus Depot and more importantly, Vaughn College of Aviation Technology.
