Abris de la nibarde
L’abri de combat de la Nibarde est construit en 1908 à 230 mètres d’altitude entre le fort du Vieux Canton et l’ouvrage ouest du Vieux Canton dans le secteur nord-est de la place de Toul.
Sa capacité est de 80 places couchées pour héberger les troupes d’infanterie des intervalles du secteur.
Deux parapets d’infanterie avec masques blindés fixes et rabattables sont placés en avant de l’abri.
En 1914, l’ouvrage pouvait communiquer par télégraphie électrique avec le fort du Vieux Canton. Un projet d’avril de la même année prévoyait de le transformer en ouvrage fermé équipé de deux guérites blindées, d’un observatoire cuirassé, d’une tourelle de 75 et d’un abri pour 2 pièces légères, servants et munitions.
Aujourd’hui, cet abri est en très bon état, il est presque complet car il possède toujours ses grilles et ses lits métalliques.
