Land of Little Pinecones Traditional Cache

Cache is a large bison container. To find cache, park at boat launch/beach parking at Buffalo Lake Campground and follow the trail that runs along the lake shore. The lakeside trail will take you to the cache.

I spent my childhood camping at Buffalo Lake. We loved exploring along the lakeside trail and created our own worlds. From the beach we would walk along the lake through the woods, past the "walking trees" through the "Land of Little Pinecones." We'd speed past the "dark forest" where large mosquitoes lurked in order to reach the secret land to rule the lake from the large rock (and if you got tired you could take a nap on the "couch rock.") Along the shore of Buffalo Lake we acted out many imaginative stories as pioneers, explorers, pirates and castaways. This cache is hidden in the "Land of Little Pinecones" as a tribute to my deep love and appreciation for this most magical and beautiful place.
