You can park at the entrance to the Grange Hall, there is no need to pass beyond the gate or fence. It is easiest to walk along the fence to GZ, you avoid the embankment and culvert if you do so, that would make the terrain rating higher, especially in the wet season.
The large mound of soil with a rhody and other plants is an example of Hugelkultur, a raised bed/hill culture, established over rotting wood. This was created in 2015 and the rhody planted on it is a memorial to a recently passed member.
The grange itself will be celebrating the Hall's 80th anniversary in the summer of 2015, the original structure was built by volunteers in 1935. The grange was founded in 1933. The Grange also holds open game nights on the third Friday of the month, so if you're looking for this on that day, stop on in. With it's revived membership, it is a 'Green' grange and was featured on NPR in 2013
