Opened in 1972, Scotsland was once 318 acre development that consisted of a shopping center, ski hill, tennis complex and restaurant. Later a motel, condominiums, golf course and movie theater were added. It started out as a mall that concentrated on specialty shops and restaurants which could offer a more unusual atmosphere of dining, shopping and leisure activities. Through the years the property went through changes. In 1974 it was reborn as Olympia.
