Easy drive up cache.  An interesting and informative bird museum in one of the world’s biggest birding paradise.

Sigurgeir’s bird museum by Lake Myvatn is situated at the farm Ytri-Neslönd by Lake Myvatn. It was established because of the pioneering work of Mr. Sigurgeir Stefansson from that farm. Sigurgeir’s bird museum is considered the largest private bird collection that is known in Iceland.
The museum houses about 180 species of birds and more than 300 specimens of bird. Almost all the Icelandic bird fauna is represented in addition to numerous eggs.
