For 50-some years, Wrecks Inc. was a car junkyard on the Northwest corner of Indianapolis. Located on Lafayette Road (a.k.a Old 52) it was on the main thoroughfare between Indianapolis and Chicago before I64 was built. While it had an enormous inventory of thousands of wrecked cars, it was probably most famous for its neon sign:

Several years ago Wrecks closed its doors (gates) for good. While I can't find an exact date the lights went out, it was likely somewhere around 2003. The neon sign still stands guard near the unused entrance; a reminder of an era gone by.

Be mindful of the poison ivy; while you should not need to get in it to log the find, there is lots of the stuff around.
