Francesco Tarabotto (Lerici, 1877 – Genova, 1969) è stato un navigatore italiano.
Capitano Superiore di lungo corso, comandante della nave Rex nel viaggio da Genova a New York tra il 10 ed il 16 agosto del 1933, nel quale la grande nave italiana conquistò il più ambito e prestigioso trofeo destinato alla nave più veloce nel corso di una traversata dell'oceano Atlantico navigando da levante verso ponente. Il trofeo in parola era il Nastro Azzurro, in inglese "Blue Riband" o "Blue Ribbon". La nave Rex ottenne il Nastro Azzurro e il famoso "Hales Trophy" percorrendo le 3181 miglia nautiche esistenti tra Gibilterra ed il fanale di Ambrose (1 miglio =1852 m) in 4 giorni, 13 ore e 58 minuti, registrando così una velocità media traversata di 28.92 miglia all'ora.

Long-time captain, of the boat "Rex" on the journey from Genoa to New York between the 10' th and the 16' th August 1933, in which the great Italian ship, won the most coveted and prestigious trophy for the fastest ship during the journey on the Atlantic Ocean, sailing from the east to the west. The trophy was the "Nastro Azzurro", in English "Blue Riband" or "Blue Ribbon". The ship Rex won the "Nastro Azzurro" and the famous "Hales Trophy" along 3181 nautical miles between Gibraltar and the light Ambrose (1 mile = 1852 m) in 4 days, 13 hours and 58 minutes, recording an average speed crossing of 28.92 miles per hour.
