Oppstad kirke


Oppstad kirke er en kirke på Oppstad i Sør-Odal. Kirken er sognekirke for Oppstad. Den var i kartolsk tid viet til Sankt Hallvard.

Oppstad har vært kirkested siden 1200-tallet. Kirken er en av flere som knyttes til vandresagnet om flytting av kirke: det fortelles at det var meningen at kirken egentlig skulle bygges på Skjulstad på den andre siden av Oppstadåa, men om natten flyttet de underjordiske materialene over til den andre siden hvor kirken altså ble bygd.

Kirken slik den fremstår i dag, ble oppført i 1725 og har delvis interiører fra kirker som sto her tidligere. Det nåværende byggverket er en korskirke i tømmer fra 1725 og har 200 plasser. Bygget har en sparsom barokkform med få vinduer og et slankt spir. Tårnet stammer fra 1624 og døpefonten omkring år 1300.

Oppstad church

Oppstad church is a church on Oppstad in Sør Odal. The church is the parish church for Oppstad. It was in kartolsk time devoted to Sankt Hallvard.

There has been a church on Oppstad  since the 1200s. The church is one of several associated with walking bait about moving the church: it is said that it was intended that the church was supposed to be built on Skjulstad on the other side of Oppstadåa, but at night the undergrounds  moved the  materials over to the other side where the church thus became built.

The church as it stands today, was built in 1725 and has partially interiors of churches that stood here before. The current edifice is a cruciform church in timber from 1725 and has 200 seats. The building has a sparse baroque form with few windows and a slender spire. The tower originates from 1624 and the baptismal font around the year 1300.
