You should sit down, enjoy the view and make the grab. You do not have to go into any flower beds or bushes. You will be looking for a silver bison tube so bring your own pen.
You are located in the Little River Basin Master Gardener’s Triangle Demonstration Garden. The garden was started in 2005 as the first volunteer project undertaken by the first Master Gardener training class. The group asked the city of Cameron if they could use an unused tract of land for a garden. The budding master gardeners with the help of the city of Cameron, planned, laid out and planted the new garden. It developed into a beautiful garden, where the local school brought children over to experience joys of gardening and to experience the results of such hard work.
Plants are selected that will require minimum care and water. The garden is divided into five areas: rose garden, herb garden, wildscape, xeriscape and the gazebo garden. The wildscape is a certified Texas Parks and Wildlife – certified wildlife area. Many organizations and individuals have been a part of making the garden what it is today.
In July 2014, an automobile going about 100mph ran through the yield sign and across the garden, demolishing the rose arbor, a major portion of a retaining wall and the gazebo. The Master Gardner’s have worked hard and long on the restoration process. Please come to see and enjoy this beautiful area.
