The cache is placed near the end of a road at a fishermen's boat launch. It is not a well-known road. We use the boat launch site as a rest area when we are canoeing out from Moses Lake.
This geocache is off the frontage road on the south side of I-90, W of Moses Lake (use I-90 exit 174 - cache is about 12 minutes off the freeway). Take the public fishing/hunting gravel road that heads south and closely parallels the power lines.
See the waypoint coords below for exactly where the public fishing road leaves the frontage road.
Once on the gravel road instructions to the cache site area are: go about 2.5 miles and TURN LEFT AT THE "T" -- then stay IMMEDIATELY RIGHT AT THE "Y" -- we're talking the main gravel road here, not any small dirt paths that branch off. At this point you'll be less than a mile from the cache.
The road is gravel and kind of rough in places. People drive out there in regular passenger cars often. Just slow down and take your time through the bumpy parts.
When you get to within 400 feet of the cache there will be a good pull-out under the power lines where you can park. Then it's off you go through the sagebrush and grass. Motor vehicles/ORV's are not allowed off road in this part of the dunes.
Cache is a small plastic camo'd jar at the edge of a downhill slope. Didn't see any but standard summertime snake and tick warning is advised.
Be sure to drive clear down to the end of the road so that you can see the waterway. In the winter, spring and early summer the water comes up higher than the cement pyramid. In the summer and fall the water level is dramatically lowered so that it becomes just a small stream. It's all part of the O'Sullivan Reservoir system.
