Geocache Description:

A spot where you can stop and enjoy a great view to the west.  Some people say that the wooded area down below is -- the only forest in Grant county.  Sunset is great from this location and one can see the top of Mt. Rainier if the sky is clear.  Plus -- there's this cool cache to get excited about.  What more could a person ask? Well, the state will ask that you have a Discover Pass.

So the real question is what defines a patch of woods as being a forest?  Grant county has scattered patches of woods here and there, but a forest is supposeded to be more expansive than a single grouping of trees.  So is this Grant County's only forest? Some say that it is. If you know of another spot in the county that has a bigger patch of woods (forest), feel free to clue us in.

But the real real question is -- what about the cache?  Well, it's not far off the bumpy road that gets you there.  It's a small camo'd plastic jar hidden in typical desert shrub-steppe fashion.

HOW TO GET THERE: This geocache is off the frontage road on the south side of I-90, W of Moses Lake (use I-90 exit 174 - cache is about 12 minutes off the freeway). Take the public fishing/hunting gravel road that heads south and closely parallels the power lines. See waypoint coords below for exact location of where the fishing road turns off the freeway frontage road. Once on the gravel road instructions to the cache site area are: go about 2.5 miles and TURN RIGHT AT THE "T" -- then follow your GPS -- we're talking the main gravel road here, not any small dirt paths that branch off. At this point you'll be less than a mile from the cache.

Didn't see any, but standard summertime snake and tick warning is advised.

CONGRATS!! Mr. Gadget #2 - - - FTF!
