SV: Tallet är en av de verkligt klassiska byggnaderna i Bräkne-Hoby. Det stora tegelhuset står på en stadig stengrund, och uppfördes år 1917. Det fungerade ursprungligen som ålderdomshem, men detta upphörde år 1965, när de gamla flyttade in på det nya ålderdomshemmet Lindebo i närheten av kyrkan. Viss vårdverksamhet fanns dock kvar i huset en bit in på 80-talet, då föreningsverksamheten började ta över. Genom åren har bl a Unga örnar, scouterna och Bräkne-Hoby skytteklubb huserat i byggnaden, men denna cache är framför allt placerad till minne av Tallets musikförening (TMF), som drog igång i början av 90-talet. Genom ungdomars och föräldrars hårda arbete renoverades flera rum och blev replokaler, och föreningen kunde också skryta med ett eget litet café där man kunde njuta av en kopp kaffe och lyssna på de lokala musiktalangerna. I början av 2000-talet växte föreningen ytterligare, då man byggde om den gamla skyttelokalen till att fungera som fullfjädrad konsertlokal. Tack vare eldsjälar i alla åldrar forsatte Tallet vara en plats för unga att samlas och skapa musik tillsammans, men 2014 tvingades föreningen flytta till nya lokaler i Ronneby. Det gamla huset var i stort behov av renovering för att kunna anses vara lämpligt för fortsatt bruk, och då kommunen ansåg kostnaderna vara för höga beslutade man istället att flytta ut all föreningsverksamhet. Huset självt hotades under en period av rivning, men det beslutades att sätta upp det till försäljning istället. I skrivande stund rapporteras det att Tallet har sålts för c:a 2,5 miljoner kr, och att det finns planer på att göra om hela byggnaden till ett asylboende.
ENG: Tallet is one of the truly classic buildings in Bräkne-Hoby. The large brick house is placed on a sturdy stone foundation, and was built in 1917. Originally, the building functioned as a nursing home for the elderly, but this ended in 1965, when the senior citizens were moved to the then newly-built home called Lindebo, located near the church. Health care continued in the building to some extent into the mid-80s, but at that time it started to give way to various youth clubs and non-profit organisations instead. Through the years, clubs such as Unga örnar (meaning "Young eagles", Sweden's socialist youth organisation), the Scouts, and Bräkne-Hoby Shooting Club have found their home here. This cache, however, is placed in memory of Tallet Music Centre (TMF was its Swedish abbreviation), which sprung to life in the early 1990s. Through the hard work of youths and their parents, many of the rooms were turned into rehearsal studios, and TMF also boasted a small café where visitors could enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to the local talents play their music. In the early 2000s, the centre expanded when the old shooting gallery was turned into a full-fledged concert room. Thanks to all the enthusiasts who poured their time and energy into the centre, Tallet continued to be a place for young people to come together and create music, but in 2014 TMF was forced to move to new facilities in nearby Ronneby. The old building was in great need of refurbishing, but the municipality decided that the costs were too great, and the house was emptied. For a while, it seemed that demolition of the old building was the only viable option, but in the end it was decided to put Tallet up for sale instead. At the time of this writing, it has been reported that Tallet has been sold for approximately 2.5 million SEK, with rumoured plans to turn the entire building into accommodations for refugees.
