Geocache Description:

The Gamekeepers on the Nanteos estate were an important part of the running of the estate, with the Powell family having over 31,000 acres, they had many Gamekeepers.

In the nineenth century one of the gamekeepers lived on this road, and would have to keep an eye out for poachers in his area. The gamekeper had a licence to arrest poachers and take them to court, where upon they would receive a prison sentence. Poachers had many hidie-holes in the area, returning after dark to collect their stash, and hoping not to get caught. But the eagled eyed gamekeeper wouldn't miss a thing and would lie in wait to arrest them - red handed.

This small poacher's cache lies hiddden in the grass verge, making sure it's not seen by the gamekeeper !
