This Lost History series is a trip down memory lane at many of Lost2011’s archived caches. The caches are placed at previous and familiar locations, especially for active cachers in the last 4 years, yet I have tried hard to ensure a fresh hunt when searching, due to slightly different coordinates, enabling a different experience.

I hope you enjoy this series and discover previously unknown facts and occurrences about each particular cache, including how they came into being, and their eventual demise.

There are 26 film pots to find (A-Z), each with a bonus number which can be collected to help achieve the D5/T1.5 bonus cache for the real dedicated among you. To add to the challenge, these caches will only be in place for the recommended minimum life span, so don’t delay, get cracking today!

This cache was a metal mints container suspended from the bridge using a fishing line. The FTF received a £1 coin for their efforts. This one certainly frustrated a few who had to have return visits and clear instructions how to find before they were able to get their smiley.

I had to replace this cache 3 times in total, mainly due to the high winds breaking the fishing line on several occasions. I could have continued to replace but after 2 years it was time to move on to the next project. The bridge had major reconstruction work carried out in the spring of 2015, so the cache definitely wouldn’t have survived past this point in any case.
