.......... and we're back in Devon!
Although we are from the North East we have been visiting the beautiful village of Broadhembury regularly now for nearly 15 years because of a family connection.
We have come to love this lovely Devon village tucked away to the south of the Blackdowns Hills and now regard this village as our “adopted village” and “our home away from home.”
We have seen many changes in the last 15 years with friends we knew who have unfortunately passed away or moved from the village and we are delighted to have made some new friends both in the village and in the local caching community.
We hosted our 1st Geocaching event in the village in 2011 and it was a "rip roaring success". So due to repeated requests we hosted another in 2012 and again in 2013. We ended up hosting two in 2014. We think it's getting a bit of an enjoyable habit!
Therefore we're hosting our second event of 2015 hopefully keeping the tradition going BUT this time it's a bit different!
BECAUSE this time were hosting an Event to help raise money for a good cause.
We will be selling sausages and burgers in buns with FREE green salad and Cider! Yes buy a sausages or beefburger and get a FREE PINT of local cider. For all those who would rather not drink the" potent" brew as it is 6.5% we will also have apple juice or orange juice available If you wish to bring your own drink please do but there will be NO bargaining for a discount...
I'm sorry to say that as this is the school field dogs are not permitted - however don't panic depending on how many are attending we might move the event into the garden where dogs are welcome and if "Chink" the Gardner doesn't see us we'll be absolutely fine.
So this is chance for everyone to shrug off the workday blues and relax on a Saturday evening with a drink and with caching friends or even meet new ones!
It's chance to meet greet and chat over all the caches you can’t find or don’t know where to place or even swap coin numbers.
We even have a Multi cache in the village! How about trying it when you come over?
We might even let you know the name of the elephant in the tree! You’ll have to see Can you do the Broadhembury Bimble? (GC2DQGE) for that one!
The event will start at 4.00pm (sausages served at 4.15pm approx) but the event will last till to 7.00pm on Saturday 15th August 2015 (if you want to stay a bit longer we don’t mind as we don’t have far to stagger especially if there’s any Tricky left!)
PLEASE PLEASE LET US KNOW YOUR OPTION FOR SAUSAGES OR A BURGER AND YOUR DRINK PREFERENCES IN YOUR "ATTEND LOGS" and have £4 ready for our "kitty".
PS The event is FREE if you don't wish to purchase anything to eat or drink but please support us it's all for a GREAT cause.
WE WOULD ALSO BE GRATEFUL if you could bring something to sit on like a fold away chair, we have a few but not that many. If you have a gazebo by all means bring that too!
We hope to have some of the Devon Event Committee Members in attendance to tell us all about what is happening in 2017.
