På en cykeltur genom alla kommuner i Uppsala län kom jag också till Östervåla och fick se att det inte fanns en enda cache i orten. Det ska ändras.
Östervåla kyrka tillhör Östervåla församling i Uppsala stift. Kyrkan ligger i samhället Östervåla, väster om sjön Tämnaren, i norra Uppland.
I sin nuvarande form består kyrkan av ett rektangulärt långhus med rakt avslutat kor i öster och torn i väster. Norr om koret finns en vidbyggd sakristia vars gavelröste har blinderingar av tegel. Kyrkan uppfördes vid slutet av 1200-talet eller början av 1300-talet och var kanske redan då en salkyrka med rakt kor. Sedan 1806 hänger i tornet två kyrkklockor. Storklockan fick sin nuvarande utformning 1783 och lillklockan göts 1824.
Vid en restaurering år 1902 inreddes tornets bottenvåning till vapenhus och det gamla vapenhuset i söder revs. I koret lades ett trägolv som övertäckte gravhällar. Långhusets golv cementerades och övertäcktes med trägolv. En stor restaurering genomfördes 1952-1953 då en tidigare orgel återställdes och kalkmålningarna upptäcktes och togs fram. Vid norra sidan återställdes sakristians gamla portal. Trägolvet i långhus och kor ersattes med tegelgolv.
Nuvarande orgel, som är kyrkans mest intressanta inventarium, byggdes 1825 av Pehr Zacharias Strand. Från början omfattade orgeln 14 stämmor, 11 i manualen och 3 i pedalen. Orgeln byggdes om av Th. Frobenius och utvidgades till 30 stämmor. I maj 1969 invigdes en kororgel byggd av orgelbyggare Mads Kjersgaard i Funbo socken.

Östervåla church belongs to the parish Östervåla in the Archdiocese of Uppsala. The church is situated in the village Östervåla, west of the lake Tämnaren, in the northern part of the province Uppland.
In its modern form the church consists of a rectangular nave with a straight choir towards the east and a tower in the west. To the north of the choir is the sacristy. The church was built at the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. Since 1806 there are two bells in the clock tower. The larger one was formed in 1783 and the smaller one in 1824.
During a restauration in 1902 the church porch was moved from the south to the lower level of the tower. In the choir a wooden floor was installerd over the grave slabs. The floor in the nave was cemented and also covered with a wooden floor. Another large restauration was accomplished in 1952-1953 when an earlier organ was repaired and frescos where discovered and restored. On the northern side the old portal to the sacristy was restored and the wooden floor in the nave and choir replaced with bricks.
Today's organ is the most interesting inventory of the church. It was built in 1825 by Pehr Zacharias Strand. In the beginning the organ had 14 voices, 11 in the manual and 3 in the pedalboard. The organ was modified by Th. Frobenius and extended to 30 voices. In May 1969 a smaller organ in the choir was inaugurated, buitl by Mads Kjersgaard in Funbo.
