Geocache Description:

The original "Old Kissing Bridge" was placed by Mrs.uccacher. She graciously transferred it to me a while ago. As it continually disappears I've decided to archive the original cache and replaced it with one that has a higher difficulty rating to make harder for the local youths to find.

** The Kissing Bridge is closed to traffic. It can be approached from either end. NOTE: If you park at the east end there is a path and you will not have to climb over the huge concrete blocks. **

You are looking for a match holder sized container.

Built in 1875 by brothers James and Charles Phelps, the Waterford Covered Bridge is one of only two covered bridges that remain in Erie County. It crosses LeBoeuf Creek and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

It was designed by Richard Cross using a Town lattice truss. This design was developed to make bridges with small, light pieces instead of the larger, heavier pieces that were more expensive to produce.

There once was a sign on the gable of the bridge that said, "Old Kissing Bridge built in 1875 the Phelps Brothers" It is also known as the Brotherton Crossing Bridge.
