This is a short, easy Multi that takes you for a stroll through the Timor Cemetery.
This cemetery officially opened in 1870. The first recorded burials began at this time however there are many more un-recorded burials over the previous decades. Many of these can still be seen, unmarked or scarcely marked.
In this small country cemetery which is still used, you will find a huge variation of grave types, an interesting reflection of the times as well as differences between poorer and richer families.
The Posted Co-ordinates/Waypoint #1 will take you to one of the earlier Graves. It was at some point marked but this has disappeared over time.
This grave is quite unique as it is one of the last standing of it's kind.
Waypoint #2 will take you to a section of the earliest graves. They are simple graves and marked with vague descriptions or not at all. The majority of these pre-date 1870.
Waypoint #3 will take you to an example of a newer memorial.
Not a grave but a beautiful ode to a loved one. Sit and Rest while you pay your respects.
The Co-ordinates you require are:
S36 59.ABC E143 42.DEF
A= Measure the distance between Waypoint #1 and the Entrance Gate.
If the distance is MORE than 80metres then A=3. If it is LESS then A=2
BC =DOUBLE the total number of characters/symbols- both letters and punctuation- in the 2nd line of the Golden plaque found at Waypoint #3.
D = Measure the distance between Waypoint #2 and the Entrance Gate.
If the distance is MORE than 175metres then D=5. If it is LESS then D=4
EF= Wander to small shelter near the gate. Inside you will find further information about the origins of the cemetery. The first recorded funeral took place on August 2nd in what year? 1??0. (The missing digits =EF)
GZ is outside of the cemetery, a very short walk from the Cemetery entrance.
To check your numbers - if adding all 6 of the digits as single numerals, should add up to 32. The container is a small camo'd snap lock container holding Log/Pen/Swaps/FTF Prize.
