I have long been a fan of the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. This series is in appreciation of those books. When completed, the series will have 29 books (the last due to be published in 2016). There is a cache for each of the 10 sub-series, one for a group of three short stories, and one for a novella - plus a starter and finishing cache, and one cache that is not connected to the books - i.e. a total of 15 caches.
This "starter bonus" cache is just before the beginning of a trail down the old Newbridge to South Queensferry railway line, closed prior to the Beeching review. The cache series finishes at the end of the "muddy" pathway just before you come to a surfaced path, and then steps leading to a path to Dameny railway station, and then on to South Queensferry. The path can be a bit muddy, and you will need to climb embankments to retrieve some of the caches. Most caches are easily accessible near the path - but there are some where the route off the path is a bit overgrown (stinging nettles and brambles).
The route is popular with cyclists and dog walkers - so please be wary of these muggles. Some cyclists go at high speed
You can start at either end of the path - or anywhere in between.
