It's electric!
You can't see it.
(It's electric!)
You gotta feel it.
(It's electric!)
Ooh, it's shockin’!
(It's electric!)
It’s an electric cache!
Whether we’re dancing to music or geocaching in a secluded location, electricity powers our world. This mysterious force energizes everything from light bulbs and GPSrs to lighting up the sky during a storm.
An electric current is the movement of an electric charge. The process by which electric current passes through a material is called electrical conduction. For an electric current to happen, there must be a circuit. An electric circuit is a connection of electric components so an electric charge can flow along a closed path (a circuit), usually to perform some useful task.
To claim the smiley for this cache, you’ll have to interact with the cache container and harness the amazing power of electricity. When you get to the cache location, use both of your hands to gently touch/squeeze two of the metal objects protruding out of the cache hiding place. Continue to select metal objects until the cache reveals the hidden code. Note: Electricity will flow through your body when the correct combination of metal objects is found and the circuit is completed.
The code you need to open the lock is based on the three colored lights that will only be visible when you complete the circuit and look at the cache correctly. To open the lock, you will need to adjust the dials to align the correct letters with the indicators on the lock. The combination consists of the first letter of the top color the cache revealed, the second letter of the middle color the cache revealed, the third letter of the bottom color the cache revealed, and the fourth letter of the color of the text on the lock. Note: the correct combination must still be displayed on the lock to be able to re-lock it. Please remember to turn the letter dials after you close the lock !
Bring a pen to make sure you can sign the log. The pen I put in the cache may get tired of the electricity and try to escape. ;)
After you open the cache and sign the log, please put everything back as you found it and reset the lock so the next cacher can have the same experience. Please do not give away anything about this cache in your logs!
Daytime hours only! Paved parking is available nearby; please do NOT drive across the grass. Happy caching!
