Si può iniziare l’itinerario a livello del lago presso Villa Fedora (m 198) e proseguire lungo la strada asfaltata che segue l’argine sinistro del torrente Selva Spessa fino ad oltrepassare il campeggio La Tranquilla in zona Oltrefiume. L’itinerario è segnalato con i segnavia bianchi e rossi del CAI e contrassegnato dal numero 3. Al termine della strada asfaltata inizia il sentiero che prosegue in ripida salita a fianco delle stazioni di captazione dell’acqua e si arrampica sul pendio del Monte Camoscio.
L’intero Monte Camoscio può essere considerato una unica formazione granitica e numerose sono le cave di estrazione del pregiato granito rosa proprio della zona. Giunti sulla cima rocciosa del Monte Camoscio (m 890) si può godere di una splendida vista sul lago Maggiore con le isole Borromee e, guardando in direzione del Montorfano, si possono vedere le cave di estrazione del granito bianco e la piana alluvionale formata dal fiume Toce.
You can start the route at the level of the lake at Villa Fedora (198 m) and continue along the paved road that follows the left bank of the stream Selva Spessa until pass the camping La Tranquilla, in Oltrefiume. The route is marked with red and white CAI trail marked with the number 3. At the end of the paved road begins the path that goes steeply uphill alongside the stations catchment water and climbs on the slope of Monte Camoscio.
