Geocache Description:

CACHE IS ONLY AVAILABLE 9am - 5pm Please be respectful of these hours. Placed on private property. Permission granted as long as we can be respectful of the owner and his property.

FAHRVERGNUGEN! The German word for "Driving Enjoyment". This cache will take you down memory lane of the Aircooled Volkswagen. In 1925, this property was established as a farm. The farm went abandoned in 1972. In 1975, a spry 32 yr old man with the love of Volkswagens bought the property. He moved his then small collection of VWs to the property. Over the next 20 years, his collection grew to hundreds of VWs on the property. At one time, it's estimated that over 350+ aircooled Volkswagens were on the property. In 1994 and years following, hundreds of VWs were sent to the crusher. Leaving parts laying all over the ground like a bomb went off. Volkswagens continued to arrive and the young, spry VW enthusiast is now a 72 yr old man with many memories of these silly German cars. Nothing is for sale. But everything is able to be seen as a museum/collection. SO! Put on your favorite tie dye and hop on the Bus, dude or dude-ette! You will be on private property. Complete permission has been granted to geocachers to be on the property for this multi cache. PLEASE be respectful.
