Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden on a nice trekking route in the Dachstein Mountains of the Austrian Alps at 1830 m above sea level. The terrain is not so difficult, it's a regular alpine trek.

You can approach it from Obertraun by cable car to the summit of Gjaidalm. From there about 1,5 km walk heading to the West. The cache is located nearby the hiking trail. It is not difficult to get there, you only need a good hiking boots and wear according to the high alpine weather.

If you decided to find our cache we recommend to visit Hallstatt. This is a beautiful village at the side of the lake, ther are all-around high mountains. You can find two camps there if you prefer the tent, this is the best I think (N 47° 33.037’ E 13° 40.590’). The water is a little bit cold but clean and very good to take a swim after a sweaty tour. Once you are here do not miss to go to the Gosau lakes! The upper lake is the most beautiful.
Me and my wife spent a wonderful weekend in Hallstatt and hid the cache to invite you to this breath-taking place.

The cache is a regular box (18x18x8 cm) with blue lid and contains a surprise CD, candle with matches, Hungarian coins, ski ticket holder, pocket knife, glass ball and a box with some undersea treasure from the Adriatic seashore.
