Welcome to the Grampians first 'Letterbox Hybrid' cache that will give you some brilliant views of the Grampians from 'The Sentinel'.
This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid - which pays homage to an older kind of scavenger hunt, Letterboxing. This is finding a container with a set of clues, rather than direct by GPS. To do a Letterbox you need a set of clues, a stamp and a notepad. Well, here I have included all three for you.
Letterbox Hybrid Method of finding
1. Go to the trailhead which is the start of the ridge. Make your way up, whichever you find safest.
2. When you are past 200m from the trailhead, continue straight up the ridge and look for the Y fork in the attached photo. You can't miss it - it's dead centre giving you a big peace sign.
3. Look at the base of the fork, find the cache, stamp the logbook!
Traditional Method
Follow the final coordinates, find the cache, stamp the log.
The hide is a cliptop container covered by a rock. There is safe ways up the ridge, by going up the sides. DO NOT attempt to scramble near the ridge edges. DO NOT do this cache in the wet.
