Velkommen til en serie geocacher i Harry Holes Oslo!

Sorgenfri, den fjerde boka i serien om Harry Hole, starter med et bankran hvor en ansatt blir skutt og drept. Den aktuelle banken må være plassert i Bogstadveien 30. I boken omtales en 7-Eleven-kiosk på den andre siden av gaten, og den var der for ikke så lenge siden. Ranerne ble dessuten observert løpende opp Industrigata som krysser Bogstadveien akkurat her. Bogstadveien er en populær og nylig oppgradert handlegate fra Majorstua til Homansbyen. I Bogstadveien 30, som er en flott funkis-bygning fra 1951, er det nå en bokhandel. En bank som først het Kristiania Folkebank (se bildet), deretter Folkebanken Realbanken, Andresens Bank, Kreditkassen og til slutt Nordea har vært lokalisert i dette bygget. Faktisk skjedde det et voldelig bankran her 27. desember 2000.
Sorgenfrigata, som tittelen på boka refererer til, er ikke langt unna. I boka blir Anna Bethsen funnet død i leiligheten sin i Sorgenfrigata 17. Bygningen fra 1895 er nå grå, men i boka er den beskrevet som gul med blå dører, noe som i grunnen passer bedre med bygningen i nr 19. Martine fra boka Frelseren bor også i Sorgenfrigata. Tidligere bodde også Jo Nesbø selv i denne gata, men nå bor han i Gjørstads gate 2 i følge telefonkatalogen.
I den andre retningen finner man Vibes gate hvor det var en låsesmed som spilte en rolle i fortellingen. Sindre Fauke, kjent fra boka Rødstrupe, bodde i Vibes gate 18.

Dette er en enkel 3-trinns multi. Alt er innen 300m fra start. Cachen er en mikro uten plass til noe annet en loggen.
Trinn 1: N 59° 55.580 E 010° 43.260
Koordinatene peker på bygningen i Bogstadveien 30 hvor bankranet skjedde. Ta en titt på låsen på en av skyvedørene til butikken på hjørnet av bygget. Noter det seks-sifrede tallet abcdef på dekselet over låsen på utsiden. Det er også synlig når butikken er stengt. Tallet skal være det samme på begge skyvedørene.
Trinn 2: N 59° 55.685 E 010° 43.216
Koordinatene peker på bygningen i Sorgenfrigata 17 med leiligheten der Anna Bethsen ble funnet død. Der er et stort gammelt koblingsskap på siden av bygningen ut mot Ole Vigs gate. Noter de tre store bokstavene på koplingsskapet. Gjør om bokstavene til tall ved å erstatte A med 1, B med 2, C med 3 osv. Legg så de tre tallene sammen. Du skal da få et to-sifret tall gh.
Finalen
Cachen er gjemt på koordinatene N 59° 5(h+3).(d)(b)(f+2) E 010° 4(e+2).(a+1)(g+3)(c+4). Sett inn sifrene abcdefgh funnet ved de to første trinnene. Parentesene indikerer individuelle sifre i koordinatene; de skal ikke multipliseres. Gjemmestedet er i nærheten av en låsesmed, men ikke i Vibes gate. Kanskje har den vært inspirasjon for låsesmeden i boka.

This is the fourth cache in the Harry Hole’s Oslo series of geocaches. For more information about the series, please see the description of the first cache.
The fourth book in the series, Nemesis (Sorgenfri), starts with a bank robbery were a cashier is shot dead. This bank is most certainly located in Bogstadveien 30. The novel refers to a 7-Eleven kiosk across the street which was there not long ago. The criminals were observed running up Industrigata which crosses Bogstadveien at this point. Bogstadveien is a popular and recently renovated shopping street in the Majorstua district. Bogstadveien 30 now houses a bookshop. The building is an excellent example of Functionalism from 1951. A bank first named Kristiania Folkebank (see image), then Folkebanken Realbanken, Andresens Bank, Kreditkassen and finally Nordea was previously located in this building. A violent robbery of the bank here actually happened on 27 December 2000.
The street Sorgenfrigata, literally "Carefree street", to which the Norwegian title refers, is located nearby. In the novel, Anna Bethsen is found dead in her apartment in Sorgenfrigata 17. The building, from 1895, is now grey, but in the novel it is described as yellow with blue doors, which matches better with the building in no 19. Martine in The Redeemer (Frelseren) also lives in Sorgenfrigata. Jo Nesbø used to live in this street as well. He currently lives nearby, in Gjørstads gate 2, according to the phone directory.
In the other direction, you'll find Vibes gate where there was a locksmith that played a role in the story. Sindre Fauke, known from the Redbreast (Rødstrupe) also lived in Vibes gate, in no 18.
About the cache
This is an easy 3-stage multi (2 virtual stages and a physical final stage). All stages are within 300m from the start. The cache is a micro with no space for items.
Stage 1: N 59° 55.580 E 010° 43.260
The coordinates points to the building in Bogstadveien 30 where the bank robbery happened. Look at the lock on one of the sliding doors of the shop in the corner of the building. Note the six digit number abcdef on the plate covering the lock on the outside. It is visible also when the shop is closed. The number should be the same for the two doors.
Stage 2: N 59° 55.685 E 010° 43.216
The coordinate points to the building in Sorgenfrigata 17 with the apartment where Anna Bethsen was found dead. There is a large old wiring cabinet on the side of the building facing Ole Vigs gate. Note the three large letters on the wiring cabinet. Convert the letters to numbers by replacing A with 1, B with 2, C with 3 and so on. Then add the three numbers together. You will then have a two digit number gh.
Final stage
The cache is hidden at N 59° 5(h+3).(d)(b)(f+2) E 010° 4(e+2).(a+1)(g+3)(c+4). Insert the digits abcdefgh obtained from the two previous stages. The parentheses indicate individual digits in the coordinates, they should not be multiplied. This location is close to a locksmith, but not in Vibes gate. It might have been the inspiration for the locksmith in the novel.
