Follow the trail from Culter Football to the little bridge - hunt around and play Pooh Sticks. Popular path with ramblers - watch for muggles.
We've headed to this spot for a number of years and always enjoyed a Pooh Stick competition on arriving, please join our silliness :)
Called the 'Shoddy Bridge' and built in 1710, the pre-turnpike road from Aberdeen to Tarland crosses the Leuchar Burn over this bridge. The road was called the 'Shoddy' after the nearby Waulkmill where woollen clothes were recycled 200 years ago, the low parapet gave clearance to horse panniers.
This is is lovely little spot, perfect for playing Pooh Sticks. Follow the trail from Culter Football westwards between the fields and discover the little stone bridge.
