This cache is dedicated to my grandparents, Bert and Gladys Harget, who gave so much love and happiness to so many. Bert (also known as "Happy") was a WW2 glider pilot and an adventurer. As his nickname suggests, he was full of life and positivity - even in the toughest of times. Born in Aberystwyth, Wales at the end of WW1, he married Gladys (Glad) in 1940 at Hasler Hosptial, Portsmouth. When Glad first met Bert she said she "went all tingly and knew it was love at first sight". Shortly after their wedding, Bert went to Belgium with the British Expeditionary Force and was evacuated at Dunkirk. He also served at D-Day and Arnhem. On March 25, 1945 (his 5th wedding anniversary), during Operation Varsity, he was captured, returning to England three months later. Glad and Bert had three children and six great grandchildren (living in England and Canada). Fluff was Glad and Bert's favorite cat. He was a ball of ginger and white fluff. Bert passed away in March 2015, aged 96 yrs and 11 months but his spirit of adventure lives on and we know that he'd be thrilled to think that he was part of the world's biggest treasure hunt!
