Not quite the size or history of THE Uluru but none-the-less a rather cool wee spot - not often visited. A small knoll at the apex of the natural ampitheatre of the Hallswell Quarry. If you park up at the indicated spot then it is just a short walk up the Quarry Viewing Platform track (5min)....as you come to the top of the track (and knoll) there are a couple lovely seats to sit and look back out over the dog park. I wanted to place the cache here but proximity of another cache meant I had to place it further around.....head left or right around the shrubbery and you will come to a grassy area, picnic seating and the quarry viewing platform (and an EarthCache!).......This Letterbox isn't too far away.....
The container holds two smaller containers - one holds a LogBook & Stamp (not for swapping!) for Letterboxers.....the other a Logbook for Geocachers.....Please bring your own stamp and/or pen to leave your marks.....
The cache is Stroller and wheelchair accessible if you choose your approach (not via the indicated park & track - it has steps)....park up back by the Toilets and come up the vehicle access track (to the left of the buildings as you face the quarry).
Note - whilst the quarry is accessible 24/7 the front gate (car access) is locked over night.....take note of the times on the sign as you enter (it changes winter/summer). There are several access points and it's easy enough to park outside and walk in if required.
