High atop Mt. Hebo sat a large round white radome housing radar for the Early Warning System. This spot has been cleared for years but I’m told at one time the site had a bowling ally and movie theater as well as office and living space. As you approach the cache, look to your left and you will see where this radar was located. At the time of placing the cache, the old radar site was off limits as the Air Force Reserve was using the site.
You should have no trouble finding the cache so I’m not posting a spoiler. My goal was to get you to this spot to enjoy the view.
On January 12, 2003 the cache was moved to its present location. The original location has been blocked by a closed gate.
