Geocache Description:

This multi-cache will allow you to visit each of Okeechobee's MURALS AND VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM historic murals, that preserve and celebrate Okeechobee’s heritage by depicting the rich history of our community and cultural heritage, our wildlife, and environment. There is lots to be learned from these beautiful works of art.

This cache was inspired and suggested by the owner of the 1st multicache we ever completed, Joshism and his  Downtown Stuart Walking Tour GC2Q14B Check it out if you're in the Stuart area.

There are 5 Virtual stages to visit to determine the coordinates where the physical Final stage is located. It is intended to be done on foot, covering less than 2 miles roundtrip and taking less than 1 hour to complete (not counting sightseeing along the way). Stages have been ordered to minimize the distance traveled, but they can be done in any order. The posted coordinates bring you to Stage A.

Be advised downtown Okeechobee hosts various events throughout the year which may impair your ability on certain days find a parking space, reach all the stages, and/or retrieve the Final without being spotted by muggles. Otherwise, all stages including the Final should be accessible at any time.

As stated earlier, this multi was designed to be done on foot, but you can drive to each of the virtual stages. There is no or limited parking at at least one of the stages, so if you do drive, you may still have to park and walk a fair distance. We suggest you park in the former grocery store parking lot and walk, (it is the most centrally located area and close to the Final stage). If you do chose to drive to each location, please NO NOT block the right of way or any driveways/throughways with your vehicle.

THE CACHE
The final stage is also a mural, but not one of the Main Street MURALS AND VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM murals. It has been placed with permission. You are looking for a concealed but not camo'd small tupperware container. When placed, it contained a pen, log, some tradable items, and a FTF certificate. Please be mindful of muggles when retrieving the container and replace it where you found it. Also, after signing the log, you may take a picture of the final stage mural and email it to me (optional). That may help with the stealth. Please DO NOT post the final stage picture in the logs, as to not spoil the fun for others. Spoiler pictures with the logs will be deleted. Pictures of all the other murals are welcome though.

The cache is located at N 27° A . B C W 080° 49. D E

(A is a two digit number, B is one digit, C is two digit, D is two digit, and E is one digit)

To figure out the missing numbers, you need to go to each stage and find the answer to each of the questions.

Stage A - What is the total number of the settlers depicted in the painting? (Do not count the Seminoles)

Stage B -  How many boats are depicted?

Stage C - Take the last digit of the year the company began, add it to the last digit of the year the company ended, and then add that number to the number of people depicted in the painting.

Stage D - Subtract the number of the settlers from Stage A from the number that is branded on the cows.

Stage E - There are 42 openings painted, counting windows and doors. In one of the paintings, what time is it on the clock in the bank?   __:57 (fill in the blank)

Stage F - Just for fun, walk two & a half blocks directly east, to see the mural I somehow forgot to add in this multicache when I created it. This stage is not necessary to complete for the coordinates to the final. I don't know why I missed it, but I would hate for you to miss out because of my mistake. And, it's on the way to the final!
