Being from England, I tried to work out what Derwen Deg translates to and was under the belief it was 'Ten Oaks' which is precisely what you will see when you arrive at this cache, looking over the field. I have since found out it means 'Fair Oak' which is again a very suitable description of the location. In a moment of 'madness' in May 2014 I stumbled across a house with the same name in a nearby road with the most amazing views of the Black Mountains behind and had to buy it, even though it involved selling my nice comfortable 3 bed semi near London to fund the repairs. I have not regretted this for one moment and every day I am so pleased I did it :) The views around here are awesome although it is the people of this village who are remarkable. I love the sense of community and felt I just had to place a cache here, almost as a token of thanks to the people who have made me feel so welcome, even though most of them have probably never heard of geocaching!
I hope you like this little corner of the world as much as I do, even if it does rain a lot!
