Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the top of Peter Faust Dam approximately 25km west of Proserpine.  The dam was completed in December 1990 and was filled to 98% capacity after the first wet season at the beginning of 1991.  Lake Proserpine is well known by fisherman as being one of the best places in Australia to catch the iconic Barramundi with most fish being caught measuring over 100cm in length.  The freshwater Barramundi are caught using fishing lures all year round although they are particularly aggressive in the warmer months.  The lake is also the perfect location for other water sports with plenty of open water for water skiers, jet skis and kayaks.  The lake has a boat ramp, public toilets, picnic tables and barbeques for families to enjoy.

This cache is our 1st to be hidden and should not be too challenging to find.  Turn off the Bruce Highway at Proserpine and drive through the Main Street all the way along Crystalbrook Road until you get to the dam.  The cache is small in size so you’ll need to bring your own pen to sign the log.  Congratulations to the Blain-Fam who were the First To Find.
