Mink Mnt P.T. #3 - Island in the Rough Traditional Cache

The Abramobeasts and the Gold Digger's have combined their noggin's to create a 12 cache power trail at this beautiful Mink Moutain hiking area. Fact is, we simply thought this area needed more caches and it would give people an excuse to get off their keesters and get some exercise. This is the 3rd cache of the series, and is located along the trail by #6. Bring lots of water, your camera and wear good sturdy footwear. Good luck and happy trails.

This Power Trail starts at Trail Head #3, and will follow up the hill, and down Valley Walk Trail. You will be passing map points 5, 6, 10, 11, 9, 8 and then finally 7 by crossing the mountain cut off trail. You can either head back to point 5 and back down to the trail head or hang a left and venture to another unrelated cache and another amazing view of Lake Superior. This hike takes you up some moderate to steep slopes at times, so it is recommended to wear good hiking shoes or sturdy runners, and be in fair shape. The complete loop should take you from 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete, depending on how often you stop to take in the sights, and to locate the 12 caches.
