This cache is placed in memory of my beloved GPSMAP 62s GPS. I lost my GPS not far from this spot several years ago while I was floating down the Meramec river. I found many a fine cache with that gps and I only hope that it washed up into some young geocachers backyard and is serving them even better now.
You can get to this cache in a variety of ways. You could float down the river from Castlewood State Park or Sherman beach. It is also possible to swim across from Castlewood. Please be very careful if you do as the Meramec river has many unexpected debris in the water. You could also hike in from the Chubb trail, although be prepared for a killer bushwhack if you do.
I saw a carp that was over three feet long not far from here
If you are a fisherman this is a great area to cast a line. Cache is a small preform container. Have fun!
