
The area of native bush in the foreground is privately owned and has a Queen Elizabeth II National Trust Open Space Covenant protecting it. This particular covenant was created by the Haggas family in 1997.
Though there is are more unobstructed view about 0.5km further along the road to Te Anga.
On clear days Mts Ruapehu, Ngarahoe and Tongariro can be seen.
This is a free parking site for Certified Self Contained Caravans and Motorhomes which I found very handy.
