Geocache Description:

After recently completing some photo puzzle caches by Seawind and lv2wj (thanks for the inspiration, BTW!), both aubs and I (josephaw) felt like we should do one of our own. We had in fact been considering doing one that featured Downtown Payson for a while, but we kept putting it off. After considering several different formats for the cache, we settled on this one. I personally wanted to do a Wherigo, but alas, the pragmatist inside me knew that if I were to do that, people would be discouraged from doing it (which really is a shame, but true nonetheless).

Well, now you will have two different photo puzzle caches to do while exploring Downtown Payson (lv2wj's is found here: Downtown USA #6 - Payson, Utah). We hope that you enjoy your time in this quaint town.  The posted coordinates are a great place to park. After parking, head a bit south to the corner of 100 North and Main Street. At this point, the photos you'll be searching for are all found to the south, along Main Street to 100 South, with a couple of slight deviations (no more than ~1/2 block away from that corridor of 100 North Main to 100 South Main). Note that like the other nearby similiar puzzle cache, the photos are NOT in any particular order. Good luck, and have fun!

A. What is the street number of this side of the building (there are two, make sure to pick the right one)?

B. At ground level, directly below what you see in this picture, is which of the following (Choose the correct one for the right number)?

A Thrift Store = 20; A Bicycle Shop = 15; A Library = 10

C. Find the number on the nearby door, closest to what is shown in the picture below:

D. The building where the picture below is located sits on the corner of which streets?

Main and Center =  10; Main and 100 South = 15; Main and Utah Ave = 20

E. Below this you'll find a three lettered word; what color is it?

Red = 10; Green = 15; Black = 20

F. What is found on the street corner in front of the pictured building?

A Stop Sign = 05; A Brick Monument = 10; A Tree = 15

G. What is the street number of the building this is located in front of?

H. The street number of the building this sign is connected to:

I. What is the number found by the main front door of the building where this is located?

J. Directly below where this steeple sits, in the top of the wall facing the street, is a window shaped like what?

A bullet = 05; A rectangle = 10; A wagon wheel = 15

K. Closeby you'll find the building number; what is it?

L. There is a plaque on the wall next to this sign; what does it read?

"Private" = 5; "Welcome" = 10; "Open since 1950" = 15

M. What are the last two digits of the number at the very top of the facade of this building?

N. Located just below the picture frame is a number on something red; what is it?

O. What is the number of the building this is located at?

How to Solve the Puzzle:

The final cache location is found at:

N 40o 02.UVW'
W 111o 43.XYZ'

Use the following equations below, after you've gotten the appropriate numbers for each picture / letter, and plug them in to get the final coords and to solve the puzzle. Note: If any of your calculations result in anything besides a whole number, round it off to the nearest number before plugging it into the coordinates.

U = ( B - A ) + 3
V = ( C + D ) / 11
W = ( E - F ) - 3
X = ( K - J ) / 8
Y = ( G + H ) - I
Z = ( O - L ) - ( M - N ) - 1

Best of Luck, and Happy Hunting!
