We are new to caching but not to Chitek Lake, our second home during the summer months. We've had some great experiences learning to cache at Chitek and I am excited to make my first hide so that others can enjoy this past time in one of our favourite places.
We've been at Chitek since our children were babies and when my son was very small he was certainly not the quietest infant in the morning, to say the least. To allow the rest of the campground sleep in required the removal of this noisy baby so he and I used to walk the town in early mornings. Though I was often tired at this terribly early hour, I enjoyed these quiet walks with my little boy.
This spot was often the first spot we stopped. I would sit on the grass between the lake and the trees and enjoy the solitude. Sometimes we would see loons, beavers, or the odd fish jump. It was one of our most special spots.
This cache is for clscores, who does not need the early morning walks anymore. If you happen to find this cache in the early morning with no one around, take a moment to enjoy the morning calm as I did years ago. If you go during any other hour, be stealthy as it is a high-muggle traffic area.
Happy Caching!
