Geocache Description:

Ah Southfield, the place I've lived longer than any other. When I was a kid my family moved fairly often. Military family? Heck no. The food industry! My family continued to move as my father was transferred but I decided to stay in the Detroit burbs. No more major moving over and over.

So why Southfield? Easy access to several expressways and roads that make it easy to get most anywhere. & It's a great city!

But how did I find it? Look north from ground zero and you'll see the building my Dad worked in for several years after moving up from the Detroit plant manager to VP. His company had two floors in this building. & had a condo a mile north to use when employees were transferring to the D or here for an extended period.

The corporation merged with another once again and my family moved to another state (again!). Four years later the company started selling off the condos near each plant including what is now my home. I searched and searched for another place but I so fell in love with 'my' place.

Over the years this office building has changed over and over. The name on the building. The color. The facade. You name it, it's changed. That is all but the line of flags. I love the flags. I embrace change in most things but also find comfort in the little things that remain stable.

So this cache is in honor of my dad, a stable force in my life. & the city of Southfield for becoming my HOME.
