Geocache Description:

NOTE: DO NOT CROSS FENCE onto PRIVATE PROPERTY! CACHE IS adjacent to parking on public land.

Located at the crest of the Sturgeon River Valley, there is a great nature view to the south.  Summer months offer beautiful vista's of green and gold from nearby farmland seeded in Canola, wheat and other crops.  Fall brings an array of exotic colours as the tree leaves turn in the autumn season.

The cache is easily reached by driving south of Bon Accord on Range Road 240, commonly referred to as SunnySide Road.  At the crest of the highway before entering the Sturgeon River Vallety is a roadside turnout where you can park. DO NOT TRESPASS PRIVATE PROPERTY. The cache container blends in with the natural environment on public land adjacent to parking.  You'll need to bring a pen/pencil to log your visit and find.  Trees may cause your GPS to bounce around.

The Sturgeon River is a 260 km long river located in central Aberta. It is a major tributary of the North Saskatchewan River. The stream crosses Sturgeon County, which was named for this river.

The Sturgeon River originates about 90km west of Edmonton just west of Isle Lake. It flows east toward Edmonton and about 15 km northwest of Edmonton (near St. Albert) turns northeast. About 38 km north-northeast of Edmonton (near Gibbons) it turns to the southeast. It enters the North Saskatchewan River at a point about 35 km northeast of Edmonton and about 8 km northeast of Fort Saskatchewan.
