Parking is available at a roadside turnout and an easy grab and go, or stop for a while and look for critters. The cache won't likely be accessible in the winter months where the snow has covered the ground.
The cache is easily reached on Range Road 240, commonly referred to as SunnySide Road. A roadside turnout is avialable for parking. The cache container blends in with the natural environment. You'll need to bring a pen/pencil to log your visit and find.
The nerarby Sturgeon River is a 260 km long river located in central Aberta. It is a major tributary of the North Saskatchewan River. The stream crosses Sturgeon County, which was named for this river.
The Sturgeon River originates about 90km west of Edmonton just west of Isle Lake. It flows east toward Edmonton and about 15 km northwest of Edmonton (near St. Albert) turns northeast. About 38 km north-northeast of Edmonton (near Gibbons) it turns to the southeast. It enters the North Saskatchewan River at a point about 35 km northeast of Edmonton and about 8 km northeast of Fort Saskatchewan.
